season..This
begins the 10th year for the San Felipe Title
Co..... just about 8 years on the balcony next
to Baja Java and Shadetree Computer.... and now
beginning the 2nd year at the new location 183

a bit south of CHUMPO’S PIZZA/THRIFTY ICE
CREAM PARLOR..... before getting into the book
business.... i.e. new titles and specials.....
would like to bring everyone up to speed on the
new store.... and what makes this little spot
in San Felipe so special to many of you.....since
last year we have opened up a neat and quiet little
patio (Cat’s Patio) in the back of the store....
where you can relax and read ... available besides
thousands of books are the latest editions of
the following magazines...TIME-NEWSWEEK-U.S. NEWS
& WORLD REPORT-NEW YORKER-ESQUIRE-ARCHITECTURAL
DIGEST-NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC-TRAVLTIPS(news on travel
by ocean freighters).... current editions are
for the reading pleasure of all here at the store.....
back issues can be had FREE of cost..... IF there
is fresh coffee in the pot just help yourself
and that goes for bottle water in the ice box
and of course Ed’s Homestyle Cookies and
have just received a large supply of candy....

all compliments of the bookstore ..I.E. FREE....in
addition this fall we are going to offer Wi-Fi
in the back patio area........besides the bargain
tables (5 Paperbacks for $1.00) Please note that
these books cannot be returned for any credit.....
we now have Cat’s Patio which also features
many Hardback bargain books..........and begining
on SUNDAY OCT 25th 2PM we once again have SUNDAY
AFTERNOON MOVIES AT THE BOOKSTORE.....and for
those of you who were here last year the movie
bill of fare is quite varied..... from Foreign
films to old B/W films from Hollywood.... and
everything in between..... films will be posted
both at the store and on our website www.sanfelipetitleco.com
and hopefully on both local websites....
NEW BOOK NEWS..... once
again this summer we have been buying a lot of
new and interesting books..... we were able to
come back from the San Francisco Libary’s
BIG BOOK SALE.... came back south with 30 boxes
of books and now in the process of getting them
into the mix..... also was able to pick up a few
copies of out-of-print Baja books....... in response
to your requests have stocked many of the Latin
America’s most popular authors.... Isabel
Allende/Carlos Castaneda/Octavio Paz/Garbriel
Garcia Marquez.....
Several Baja related books
are now out-of-print and they are available here
in the store... Baja California Plant Field Guide.....Norman
C. Roberts.. There are probably over 4,000 species
or varieties of higher plants that occur in Baja
Calif. Wiggins ‘Flora of Baja Calif’
lists 155 families, 88 genera, and over 2,700
species of plants as occurring in Baja Calif and
the nearby islands... This book discusses or describes
over 550 and pictures over 275 of them.....
The Cave Paintings of Baja
California - Harry W. Crosby.....We have a very
few copies of this unbelieveable Baja book on
the cave paintings.... a great Xmas gift......
The Unforgettable Sea Of
Cortez - Gene S. Kira.....Believe we have probably
6 copies left of this new reprint of the original.....
it is without a doubt a Baja Classic.....

the San Felipe Title Co.... on paper it is no
contest...... and over the past few years especially,
gone are many of the finest independent book stores
across the country..... several local websites
in fact encourage buying Baja Books from Amazon......
the question is what do the BIG BOYS/LADIES do
for your local community..... you each must answer
that question..... we have on hand probably 30,000
titles and will order just about any title you
might be interested in..... we offer the other
intangibles which only a local bookstore offers....
and lastly do they support 4 students???....1
a Senior at the University in Mexicali and 3 students
at Cobash College Prep school here in San Felipe......
by any standard this is a fine bookstore... FOOD
